Turning Point (Restorative Listening Project #5) After several years focusing on the effects of gentrification in Portland, the "Restorative Listening Project" took a look at whether the ongoing forums to bring the concerns of the African American community to the white population moving into traditionally black neighborhoods were still effective. Real Questions (Restorative Listening Project #3) Senior Pastor Don Frazier of the inter-racial Genesis Community Fellowship Congregation shares experiences about growing up in North Portland and how gentrification affected the community. He called upon people moving into a new neighborhood to learn its history and ask themselves some "real questions."

Porches and Smiles (Restorative Listening Project #2) Community activists Noni Cause and John Canda discuss the effects of gentrification on North and Northeast Portland. The whole program also includes Charles Ford, a community elder. Themes include the importance to the community of front porches, smiles, and eye contact, and moving from harm to hope.

Nathan McCall: The Effects of Gentrification (Restorative Listening Project #1) McCall is the best-selling author of "Makes Me Wanna Holler" and "Them" and is a lecturer for Emory University in Atlanta. In January, 2008, he visited Concordia University in Portland, OR, where he read an excerpt from "Them", a book which explores the ramifications of well-to-do whites moving into poor black neighborhoods. In this clip, he shares some of his personal feelings about politics and race.

"Native Perspectives on Sustainability: Nichole Maher (Tlingit)" This is a 2-minute clip features Maher, a Native leader who serves as the Executive Director of Portland's Native American Youth and Family Center, speaking on ideas of what "sustainability" means to her. It is part of a series of interviews conducted by David Hall, Ph.D. Candidate at Portland State University.

20 Years of Flying Focus This 8 minute clip is a retrospective of our first 20 years using video as a tool for social change, voicing the voiceless. It features audio from KBOO's "Behind the Screen" interview with two of our cofounding members. The clips stretch back to our pre-Flying Focus days of "Peace Action Network" in 1991, and include excerpts from a variety of shows on human and animal rights, war and peace, media analysis, and much more.
